Brad Hompe’s Wisconsin Prison Career Has Been Fruitful For All

Throughout his long and varied career with the highly regarded Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), Brad Hompe has gained so much experience, he is considered an expert in nearly every area of prison operations. Prior to joining WI-DOC, Brad Hompe made sure he had plenty of education. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice and psychology from Minnesota’s Winona State University and he went on to obtain a Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He has continued to improve his qualifications all along, receiving law enforcement certifications from Eau Claire’s Chippewa Valley Technical College and Alexandria (Minnesota) Technical College, as well as a certification as a Firefighter from Southwest Technical College in Fennimore, Wisconsin.

Along his powerful journey to becoming a prison warden and then working in prison administration as a Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator (also for WI-DOC), Brad Hompe worked his way up through the ranks, starting as a corrections officer, sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, unit manager and deputy warden and, eventually, warden. Along his career path, Brad Hompe has come to be considered a reliable expert when it comes to prison operations.

Brad Hompe’s Massive Prison Experience Makes Him a Trusted Advisor

Brad Hompe has seemingly performed nearly every job there is to do in a prison environment during his long career with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC). He has worked his way up through the ranks, starting as a corrections officer, sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, unit manager and deputy warden and, eventually, warden. Brad is now considered a top-of-the-line expert on almost everything related to prison operations. That expertise comes out of his experience in virtually every aspect of jail and prison operations, starting with design and planning to policy development on virtually every level, such as incident management, use of force, and proper training and evaluation of jail and prison employees.

These days, Brad Hompe currently serves WI-DOC as a Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator, but really, Brad’s experience with jail and prison operations is far more extensive than most. For example, Brad Hompe led the way to the development and implementation of numerous corrections programs and he has provided a wide range of services in prisons and jails throughout Wisconsin and nationally.

Corrections Specialist Brad Hompe Has Made

These days, as he serves as a Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), Brad Hompe is considered a top-notch expert when it comes to prison operations. Mostly, this is because he has so much extensive experience in virtually every aspect of jail operations. Brad Hompe has provided a wide range of services in prisons and jails throughout Wisconsin and nationally. In addition to his massive experience, Brad also has a significant education to draw upon. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice and psychology from Winona State University and a Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh.

Among his areas of expertise include jail and prison planning and design, policy development, including such aspects of prison life as use of force, and also the development and implementation of training and evaluation and incident management. Brad Hompe’s skill level is such that he is even considered an expert when it comes to food service, sanitation and maintenance, as well as classification and supervision and even fire safety.

At various points in his career, Brad Hompe has served as a prison staff employee, a jail inspector and as an instructor and trainer. During his time with WI-DOC, Brad Hompe worked his way up through the ranks, starting as a corrections officer, then becoming a Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, unit manager and deputy warden along the way to becoming a warden.
